2018 Cowboy Carnival is coming!

Sunday, May 29th is our 15th Annual Cowboy Carnival!

This fundraiser supports operating costs for our Hyattville Community Center for the coming calendar year.  There is quite a lot to be excited about - some favorite events and a few new items to boot.

The day starts with Horse Races.  A Calcutta on each race, and possibly also including Mini Chuck Wagon Races and Mule Races, as well as a Bareback Race - Read more about the races here, or contact Dave Greer at 307-469-2336.

Pie Contest and of course being able to eat all of the submissions! All pies must be made from scratch.  Since we're not sure how hot it's going to be, no cream or meringue pies please. Categories include: Single crust fruit pie, Double crust fruit pie, Miscellaneous, Boys under 12, and Girls under 12.

The Photo Show includes Amateur, Digitally Enhanced, and Professional submissions accepted.  Susan Legge will be our featured artist and guest judge this year.

The Quilt Show is one of the more renowned Quilt events in the region.   Read more about the Quilt Show, or enter a quilt of your own!

Lunch will be served at 12:30 and will include beef, lamb, pork, and home-made pies served at 1:30 p.m. The Community Center Board is pleased to welcome Virgil Bailey and Friends, proudly sponsored by ANB Bank. They will be playing right after lunch time - and you may want to make sure you have your dancing boots ready!

This is also a good time to scope out and bid on the items for the Silent Auction.
While you're at it, take a look at the local plant sale, or participate in a Bingo game!

After lunch is the Chauncey McMillan Memorial Sheep Dog Competition at 1 p.m. on the main grounds and always draws a big crowd.

Shortly after the Dog Trials begin, The sharpshooter contest begins at 1:30 down at the South end of the airstrip (where the horse races are held)

Kids’ events span the day and include a special Book Walk, Pony Rides, Petting Zoo, activity area, and an opportunity to register for the 2:30 p.m. BB Gun Shoot at the main gate (no personal guns for this one, please).

The afternoon will end with the live auction by Gary Nash. The items at the auction surprise and delight each year – it’s not unusual to find artwork, jewelry, books, photography, ranch and specialty items and more.
