Todd Jones’s “Packing Demo” attracted a large crowd of spectators and participants. Everyone seemed to enjoy this new “hands on” demonstration held out in the pasture next to the sheep trials. We sure hope to include him in our 20th Carnival in 2024. Another highlight of the day was the Live Music presented by the Hyattville Communities’ upcoming musical dual of the 12-year-old twins, Liam and Layne Jordan. Their repertoire of music kept the crowd entertained from 12-2 as they enjoyed their lunch. ANB sponsored them as well as took admission at the main gate.
The History Rooms showcasing the Military Room, displays for the Manderson-Hyattville Class Reunion and the Bonanza History Display attracted a steady stream of visitors as locals presented in person presentations enhancing the displays.
The Vendor Tables, Book and Plant Sales along with the T-shirt Sales drew a lot of interest from the crowd.
And the Kids Activities kept them busy throughout the day with their 1K race, Carl Jones’ Petting Zoo, Bingo, and the BB Gun Shoot along with the original school merry-go-round, swing set, and monkey bars.
Our culminating event of the HCC Fundraising Cowboy Carnival was the Live Auction with everyone’s favorite auctioneer, Bob Herman. He and Denise, his wife, certainly know how to keep the crowd involved and entertained. Thanks to all the donors and those that purchased these items, it was a strong and competitive day for the wide variety of items.
Our thanks go out to Medicine Lodge Archaeological Campground and Brooks Jordan, the regional States Park Manager for this area, for the tents along with selling the beverages that were donated by Pepsi. And what a meal Mama Z’s Pizza, Tom and Nancy Zieroff, catered topped off with all the delicious homemade pies.
And a mosst sincere thanks are extended to all that donated items, food, their time and attended the 2023 HCC Cowboy Carnival. Next year’s 20th Annual Hyattville Cowboy Fundraising Carnival celebration will be Sunday, May 26, 2024.
